The mullet run usually occurs around the full moon in the months of September, October and November. John and his long time friend John joined me for a few days of mullet run tarpon fishing. The fish were on fire but we had a hard time keeping one on the hook. Out of the 14 fish that we had hooked we only landed two. Just the way it goes sometimes I guess.
Roberto and his brother in-law fished the mullet run with m today. The bite was slow in the morning but got real good abut 9:30. We wound up 2 for 5 with a few more swings and misses by the fish.
Dan, his brother and a friend fished the spring Tarpon bite in sanibel with me. The fishing was pretty good going 3 for 5 on tarpon. I saw the biggest school of tarpon I have ever seen with them, about 400 fish!
